Murchison Falls National Park is one of the best game parks to visit while in Uganda. The park is located in the Murchison Conservation Area where we also find the Bugungu and Karuma wildlife reserves. The park is endowed with several attractions including over 76 mammal species with four members of the big five, the lion, the leopards, the elephants, and the Buffaloes. Other species include bushbucks, Uganda kob, waterbucks and warthogs, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, hyenas etc. Along the shores of the nile and within the waters you will see lots of hippos and crocodiles among other resident creatures. There also several primates in the Murchison falls national park including babaoons and several monkey species. The Murchison falls, Uganda’s largest national park is also home to over 450 recorded birds species including the rare shoebill stork. The park is also home to 23 Albertine rift endemics given its location in the western arm of the east African rift valley. Inspiration Video – A safari at Murchison Falls National Park The highlight of your tour in Murchison falls National Park is visiting the “Murchison Falls” a point along the Nile, within the park where River Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge 8 meters wide. The launch trip up stream is very interesting and offers magnificent views of the falls and several wildlife species found along the shores including Buffaloes, Hippos, Crocodiles, waterbucks and birds.
An 11-day Uganda safari provides ample time to interact with Uganda’s wildlife and experience the majority of the country’s safari highlights and attractions. The tour includes visits to Jinja for white water rafting, visiting the source of the Nile, Itanda falls, Sipi Falls in Mbale, Kidepo Valley National Park for the big lions, Murchison Falls National Park for the greatest falls and wildlife, Budongo Forest for chimp trekking, and the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
DAY 1 Arrival and transfer to hotel
When you arrive at Entebbe airport, our company representative/guide will meet you and transport you to Kampala, which is 37 kilometers away. You will be driven to your hotel to check in and rest after your long flight. Dinner will be served in the evening, followed by a relaxing night at the hotel.

DAY 2 Transfer to Jinja and visit the source of the Nile
Wake up early, eat breakfast, and drive to Jinja town for an excursion, passing through Mabira forest, Uganda’s largest tropical forest, and Lugazi sugar farmlands before arriving at the Owen Falls dam and crossing the bridge to the eastern part of Uganda. Jinja is Uganda’s second largest town/commercial center after Kampala, and there are numerous day trips available. Upon arrival, you will participate in activities such as white water rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping, and exploring the Itanda Falls, depending on your interests.
After lunch in Jinja, connect to explore the Nile’s source and later in the evening, go on a sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria. Return to meet your driver and drive back to your lodge to rest after a long and exciting day.

DAY 3 Missed activity and transfer to Sipi on Mount Elgon
If you missed out on an activity you wanted to do, the driver will walk you through it before continuing on your journey to the east of Uganda. Have lunch in Mbale before continuing to Kapchorwa, where the Sipi falls on Mount Elgon can be found. After dinner, connect to your lodge and unwind, relax, and spend the night.

DAY 4 Sipi falls hike
After finishing your delectable breakfast, proceed to the Sipi Falls offices to register and obtain a guide for the Sipi Falls hike. Sipi Falls, located in the Mount Elgon foothills, has three falls that range in height from 85m to 75m to 100m. Hiking to the falls provides an opportunity to interact with the locals who live nearby. Depending on your fitness, you will either visit all three falls or visit two and then return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

DAY 5 Transfer to Kidepo
Wake up early, eat breakfast, and check out of the lodge to begin your tour of Uganda’s far northwestern region, Kidepo Valley National Park. This is a full-day drive with a stop for lunch in Moroto town and some stretching in between. Arrive in Kidepo late in the afternoon and check into your lodge to relax after a long scenic drive through mountains, people, and vegetation.
Driving time is estimated to be 7-8 hours.
Apoka Safari Lodge/Kidepo Savannah Lodge/UWA Bandas are the places to stay.
DAY 6 Game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley
Enjoy breakfast before exploring the Narus Valley in search of wild cats and other animals. Kidepo is best known for its cheetahs, so if you’re lucky, you might see them as well as leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, and antelopes. The park has excellent observation points with binoculars that you will enjoy using.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime before driving to Kidepo Valley near the border with South Sudan to visit the hot springs and see various bird species, particularly “Ostriches.” Return to the lodge in the evening while you wait for dinner and spend another night at the lodge as described above. Apoka Safari Lodge and Kidepo Savannah Lodge are two of the best safari lodges in the world.
DAY 7 Transfer to Murchison falls national park
After breakfast, wake up very early and briefly drive through Narus Valley for missed animals before continuing on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You’ll arrive in Gulu town in plenty of time for lunch and to stretch your legs before continuing on to Murchison. Arrive in the park early in the evening and make your way to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 8 Boat cruise/visit the top of the falls and evening game drive
After breakfast, join the 9 a.m. boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of the Murchison Falls, which will provide you with an exciting panoramic view of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the way, you’ll see crocodiles, hippos, and river birds like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eaters.
After viewing the falls at the bottom, you will hike up to the top to see the falls. This hike is strenuous, but it is fascinating because you will enjoy seeing the falls at various points along the way, and you will be amazed when you reach the top of the falls. Having fun at the top of the falls before meeting your driver to return to the lodge
Later in the evening, go on a game drive to explore the park’s beauty and see animals such as giraffes, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, Oribi, Uganda kobs, and on a lucky evening, leopards, lions, and hyenas. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as described above.

DAY 9 Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest
After breakfast, you will go chimp tracking in Kaniyo Ecotourism site in Budongo forest, which is the largest mahogany forest in East Africa and home to approximately 80 habituated chimps. You will arrive very early in order to begin the forest walk in search of the chimps; you will also enjoy the view and sound of birds; and you will spend approximately 2-4 hours in search depending on their movement. After you find them, you will spend an hour with them, watching them eat, rest, and play.
Get away from the activity for lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon/evening at leisure.

DAY 10 Rhino tracking and back to Kampala
After breakfast, depart the park for the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see wild white rhinos. Tracking rhinos takes about 2-3 hours, followed by lunch before continuing to Kampala, arriving late afternoon,
followed by dinner and a night at Sheraton Hotel/Fairway Hotel/Cassia Lodge.
DAY 11 Departure
You will be dropped off at Entebbe airport depending on your flight schedule to your next destination. The tour has concluded.
